This strangely still pause between summer and autumn, greenery and gold, and the heat and rising wind that is once again readying itself to rush it all away in a climatic symphony of color and scent is – in my opinion, one of the best parts about living on earth 🍂 Victoria Erickson

Welp – I’m not sure if it was just me, but this summer had the speed and chaosity of an airport terminal during final call – a rainy, beautiful, family filled terminal but none the less. As every autumn approaches, I feel thankful that I’m a Marylander. We get to witness that kelly green color bleed and transform into a hundred different warmer hues.

It’s hard to slow down, especially as we get older, when the multimedia blasts Christmas and New Years Eve ads once September wistfully ends, waiting to graduate, waiting for that next promotion, along with a thousand other reasons we keep ourselves going, going, going…

Close your laptop and lay your heavy hearted pen down. Step away and step outside. Saturate your body, mind, soul, and mood while filling your lungs with that delicious, earnest, and raw autumn air. Try, try, try to think only of the here and now. I believe F. Scott Fitzgerald said it quite best: “Life starts all over again when it gets crisp in the fall.” 🌾
